Seven rooms, two villas, one stretch of untouched beach. No crowds, no rush — just Zanzibar as it should be.
Villa Juliana sits directly on the beach in Jambiani — one of Zanzibar's last truly quiet coastal villages, far from the tourist crowds of Nungwi and Paje. We're a small, family-run eco villa: seven rooms and two private villas, all powered by solar energy, cooled by the ocean breeze and built with local materials.
Wake up to the Indian Ocean outside your window. Walk barefoot onto soft white sand. Let the staff take care of the rest.
Every room at Villa Juliana faces the ocean, is built with natural materials and is powered entirely by solar energy.
Two connected sleeping areas, generous space and a private terrace — designed for families who want room to breathe.
A king-size bed, a private terrace and an uninterrupted view of the Indian Ocean. Made for couples, honeymooners and anyone who deserves a treat.
Bright, airy rooms steps from the shoreline. Simple, elegant and quietly perfect for couples or solo travellers.
Villa Juliana runs entirely on solar energy — no generators, no grid. Our rooms are designed around natural cross-ventilation so you stay cool without air conditioning. We build and furnish with local materials, minimise waste and try to leave as light a footprint as possible on the coastline we love.
It's not just good for the planet. It makes for a quieter, healthier and more authentic stay.
Most visitors to Zanzibar head straight to Nungwi or Paje. Jambiani is different. The tidal lagoon means calm, shallow waters safe for children. The village is still a working fishing community — you'll see dhows going out at sunrise and nets being mended in the afternoon. There's no strip of beach bars or inflated tourist prices. Just the beach, the locals and a handful of good restaurants within walking distance.
It's the Zanzibar that people who've been before come back for.
